sweet berry crisp
Berries are awesome. They have the most vitamins and minerals yet they have the lowest sugar of all the fruits. All good things. In addition they are super full of antioxidants. It is important to eat a variety of foods with antioxidants because they keep the inflammation + the oxidative stress + damage within our bodies, to a minimum.
Try this simple berry crisp. It takes less than 5 minutes to throw it together and offers a sweet treat in the morning that is full of healthy fats and fiber. If you would like it to be a bit sweeter, add in a dash of maple syrup. You can throw it all together - I don’t even measure sometimes. Mornings are way too busy to measure.

Berry Mixture:
4 cups mixed frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and/or raspberries)
3 tablespoons pastured grass-fed butter
Crisp mixture:
1 cup sprouted oats (I use this)*
1 tablespoon butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup Sprouted chia seeds (optional - I use this)
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350°. PUT BERRY MIXTURE INTO OVEN SAFE PAN (9 X 13) and add butter.
TO MAKE CRISP:
PLACE ALL INGREDIENTS INTO A FOOD PROCESSOR AND CHOP UP UNTIL THE BUTTER IS MIXED INTO THE OATS.
ADD CRISP MIXTURE TO THE BERRIES AND PLACE IN OVEN. ONCE THE BUTTER IS MELTED TAKE IT OUT AND STIR SO that THE BUTTER IS MIXED THROUGHOUT THE CRISP. CONTINUE TO COOK FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES OR UNTIL WARM AND BERRIES ARE COOKED THROUGH.
Serve with a dash of plain grass-fed yogurt.
Enjoy!
